That was not the point you were making when you said we were playing 12 South Americans, you clearly got your geography wrong. How do you know the ref wasn't descended from the Spanish settlers making him European?

And if you really want to take that angle I'm looking forward to watching Portugal v Portugal tonight.

Maybe we can balance it up by having the USA ref in charge of us when we play a South American team - after all he'll no doubt be of European ancestry.

You are trying to justify your blatant geographical faux pas by saying that Mexicans originated from the South Americas, that is irrelevent, the fact that thousands of years ago they migrated from the South makes no difference, they were born in Mexico, Mexico is NOT in South America....or are we now to claim that all the England team are Germanic, or go further back and claim that the entire World Cup is really just an African tournament?
