    As I said, mate

Personally, I haven't the foggiest idea who'd be a good replacement. Nor, for that matter, do I know for definite who wouldn't be a good replacement. I'd like to claim it's because I have an open mind, but it's more likely that I'm empty headed!:D

I remember when Wilson was appointed and even at 12 I had a great knack for being wrong when I told Dad he'd be a bad manager.

I also expected Bassett to have us playing hoofball. I wanted Spackman in charge. I thought Ritchie was a strange appointment. I practically begged the club to appoint Keith. And I wanted his 'sidekick' gone in January.

    I know nowt. :D

    When I worra lad

I thought I knew everything about football. I'm now a miserable, old fart. But I realise I know nothing about the beautiful game.:D

Yep. The more years I watch us, the more I realise I'm wrong about most things. But I'm still at that age where I'll post as though I know what am on about. I don't though. But don't tell anyone. ;)

    Re: When I worra lad

Anyone would think he'd already been sacked based on this thread, he'll be given the entire Christmas period at the very least I reckon.

Whether it's him or someone else I don't know where we could strengthen in January as we are pretty average all over the pitch, not that there will be a ton of money to spend, we also need a bit of a clearout as well.

I wouldn't bet Appleton at 100-1, we don't need a new manager , we need the flitcroft from last Xmas who took charge

    Re: When I worra lad

To have promotion success at the club we can narrow the Managerial options down to an ex Leeds player, an ex Man Utd player or an ex Sheff Wed player, if we can get someone who has playing connections to all three.... thats the man or woman for the job

Absolutely no chance we'll end up with the walking skull as manager, our board have a bit more about them than that.

No obvious candidates think Dean Saunders is still hurting and would relish the challenge

    Dean Saunders? Michael Appleton?

I'd rather have Keith back, or stick with Flitcroft.

Exactly. If Southend can get Phil Brown, Gillingham can get Peter Taylor and Scunny have been linked to David O Leary, we can do better than most would think.
