Fit enough to play for his wages though, it helps.

This is exactly what is wrong with football. We are paying Mido £208,000 a year, and although I love him an aeging squad player at least £260,000. This is not a dig at Bobby by the way. Its the fact that football fans are paying £28 a match to allow second division footballers to earn a quarter of a million pound a year to kick a ball round once a week (or not as the case may be).

    Absolutely ridiculous.

Massive balls up if he is being paid that. It was clear to anyone with a brain that he was gonna take 6 months to get fit.

No, that's not right. PC set aside extra funds to pay O'Connors wages. When O'Connor left those funds were used for Harewood's wages.

Not quite right. We had both O'Connor and Harewood in the squad for a while. Think O'Connor left just before the end of the season and we signed Harewood in Feb I think.

I must have got the wrong end of the stick. I thought that's what Don said at the meeting. I was daydreaming a lot though.

Robins fetched Harewood in because summat weren`t right with O`Connor (non football) and then he got shut of O`Connor, however, their wages overlapped for around 6 weeks.

And what would you know about a weekly wage?

Interesting point 'cos I seem to remember Keef or someone saying when he signed that Mido was on a similar arrangement to Vaz Te, which was nowhere near £4k a week.

I very much doubt mido was on 4k per week. Suspect it was a lot less than that with a pay as you play clause at about 4k . If it was then the club is insane for allowing it to happen.

Unreal and sums up the cancer in football. I, like many on here, work in the region of 48 - 56 hours a week on average for a fraction of what these are getting and the best thing is we are paying into the wage pot. Whoever sanctioned paying a player who was a massive gamble at best these wages need their bumps feeling.
