RE: Sheron was awful "at least Brucie ran his heart out". I agree that he was superb for one season when he was basically our only player. However, we got very little from him after that other than him rushing to take the penalties. I blame God.
RE: Sheron was awful yeah but brucie got hat trick against birmingham in play-offs. makes him a legend in my book lol! wonder if God told him to go to donny.....
RE: Sheron was awful Dunno but it must have been God negotiating Sheron's contract. Seemed like he was with us for about 15 years.
RE: Sheron was awful Sheron's off the ball movement in creating space was amongst the best I've seen of any Barnsley player - the reason why Dyer got as many chances as he did because he used to drag defenders with him to create space. Unfortunately too many fans can't see beyond the goals scored column.
My point exactly EastStander - he was miles in front of any of the other players around him... Brucie was a great player and scored a few in the play-offs but what about Sheron's two against Washday when we routed 'em 3-0 at the 'Well if you're going to point to memorable games... I'll concede he wasn't perhaps the greatest value for money and tended to play in fits and starts but I'm not sure the stick he's getting is wholly justified...
RE: equally as inconsistant Hayes for me can go missing during periods of a game. But there is usually some end product, whether it be a goal or an assist.
Sheron would go missing for weeks / months.
I dont think the effort of the two can be compared.
But Spartacus is right in saying part of it could be due to the lack of effort by Sherons own teammates at the time.

Let's forget the likes of Mike Sheron, Mitch Ward, Alex Neil, Jason Donovan, Gary Jones, Lee Jones, Carl Regan, Mike Taylor, Paul Gibbs, Mike Flynn, Steve Chettle etc etc They are where they belong..in the past
