Through balls are only excellent if they actually find the recipient.

if they are just to no-one then, they are rubbish!

 

Not really at his age....

he was in his peak at Stoke, look at the goals he scored there.

 

well one thing about nicky eaden....

we aint had anyone who can stick a ball into the box since he left

 

Peak as far as scoring was concerned, but he was only 25 when he left Stoke. A striker doesn't tend to hit his peak until he is 28-30. He was only 31 when he left us.

 

Sheron was a talented player, but

He wasn't a striker. Should have stuck to midfield, which I believe was where he started playing, until he had that one freak season of scoring at Stoke - which he never repeated.

Great player, wasted as a striker.

Despite his reputation for not scoring and Dire getting all the goals ... didn't he get more goals per game started than Dire? (two seasons running). I seem to remeber a bet.

Agreed , those games with sheron and hignett up front together were awesome to watch
