    124 properties under £50k?

Why aren't private landlords snapping these houses up and reaping £500 per month in housing benefit. Not very entrepreneurial these Scots.

you could also ask why we are chucking millions away in overseas aid but TBF lack of housing is not exclusively a Scottish problem either

I was just assuming she didn't have the brass to pay for it herself. A fair assumption I'd say.

I just don't see the link between a nuclear defence programme and affordable housing.

I despise litter so I could just as easily say there aren't enough people cleaning the streets because too much money is spent on foreign aid.

    25 to 100 years.

It's like applying for a job and being told the salary is between £1 and £50,000 pa.

I think we've learned a lot about Scots from this referendum, mainly that too many of them have the political and economic views as the average sixth-former.

If they vote Yes they're going to have a very rude awakening.

Yes you could Conan. The thing is we all have our own complaints and grumbles. Her's obviously was why spend billions on bombs and nothing on housing.
    Fair grumble IMO.
My problem in all this was Miliband and his reluctance or inability to give the girl an answer and yet go around arrogantly falsely trying to reassure folks in Scotland that he was on their side.

If the yes campaign hadnt spent 9.5 MILLION quid distributing leaflets urging people to vote yes then perhaps thered be a bit of cash to build houses. oh and thats just distributing them it doesnt include the cost of producing them and its all taxpayers money it isnt donations

    Ha Ha nice one.
And the first thing the English Govt will say on the 19th after we have voted YES is,

WTF are we gonna do now?

I don't think Miliband is all that, pretty disappointing Labour leader for me. With the way the country is being run, Labour should be ahead in the polls by a country mile. The fact that they're not is, I believe, because public perception is that Miliband is weak.

However, I just can't come to the same conclusion from that footage that you do. Alexander, Lamont and Miliband were all there to answer questions. It wasn't a case of Miliband should answer all the questions while Dougie Alexander and Johann Lamont take a back seat. They were there to give their opinion and on this issue they clearly thought they could address it. They're powerful politicians within the Labour party and their views count. They're allowed to speak.

Milliband didn't slither off out of the action, he colleagues were addressing one person, so he went to talk to someone else. He answers questions like that and much, much tougher every single day. On days like that, where he takes to the streets to talk to people, he answers hundreds of similar questions in a day.

Don't know what you expect. If he stayed to talk to everyone who wanted to ask him a question he'd have to stay on the same street for the rest of his life. He delegated. That doesn't make him a spineless maggot.

Jay the question was addressed to him face to face and as such he should have given the girl an answer regardless if it was one she'd rather not hear.
Miliband did not even attempt to give the girl an answer and the answer she did receive from Alexander and Lamont was condesending at best.

We can all find specific points to be controversial about on this topic for example why are we giving free tuition fees to Scotland when theres 100 dogs homeless in Leeds? Joking of course, but if we naively believe that Milliband is alone in the lack of respect for individuals then we need to look around other parties to get a balanced view. Personally i would Vote NO if i was Scottish as i feel that a greater unity is better in the long run and i fear that Scotland may struggle economically over 10 Years plus on its own. My vote would be based purely on the economics and well being of the country and not any short term nationalistic view. Seems like a lot of businesses are laying out the cost impact to operating as a lone entity, but its ok Weatherspoons can't wait.

Its a shame that this vote is creating a divide between our nations though.

Good luck to Scotland whichever way they go, next up Catalonia, a friend of Mine is watching closely given that she thinks Barcelona FC is their 'Oil'

Dougie Alexander answered the question, he was there when it was asked and he responded, I don't know what the problem is. Miliband was about to speak but Alexander jumped in, what's wrong with that? If the three of them had walked away and ignored her you'd have a point, but they didn't, they stood and talked to the lass and answered her questions. Not just one question, more than one. You may not like their answers, she may not have liked them, you're both Yes voters so I doubt they could have given any answer either of you would have liked, but they took the time to listen and give a response. While two of them were doing that, Miliband went to do the same with someone else who wanted to talk. I can't see any problem at all with how this was handled.

Would I prefer more social housing for the poorer members of our population? Absolutely, yes. But I certainly don't blame the three politicians who were out answering questions on the streets of Paisley for the predicament we're in and I don't think any of them did a single thing wrong in the way they addressed the questions given to them.
