Nobody has claimed he was Moore, you said a spreadsheet wouldn’t show him being out of position and then changed it to lack of speed. I just pointed out that with better coaching his positional play could be much better and therefore would not need to be ‘fast’. The correct tactics and coaching for the rest of the team will also help to negate the need of being ‘fast’.
And l don't think coaching will do much to improve the defensive unit, we need a least one new centre half, possibly two for the starting eleven if we want to get out of this league. And I stand by the original statement, it won't show up those faults.
I think that the biggest stress on defence last season came from parts of midfield including wingbacks. A lot of times Kane for example would drop down asking for the ball and play it straight back, not an issue if he was trying to initiate a give and go movement or went on to create a passing pocket for them but he often just invited a press on himself and one of the CBs. Same with Cadden and O'Keeffe rather than making an advanced move they'd drop deeper and return the ball whilst not creating movement for an outlet. For me that was down to coaching as we saw the exact opposite under Duff and towards the 2nd leg with Bolton. There was a lot of stress with MDG being in that central position, he'd revert back to making an outside center half run leaving gaps at the back and requiring the other 2 to cover his ground, again not an issue if it's planned but felt it was down to a lack of coaching. The final issue was having Williams at center back whilst not having O'Keeffe or Cotter track back to cover the right back position. Williams put a lot of responsibilities on MDG having to cover his weaknesses which in turn left gaps and spaces between MDG and Earl (who had the same issue with Cadden on the left) it all cumulated in to an exposed back 3, lacking in confidence and seemingly frustrated with each other on a regular basis with no one capable enough to come in relieve some pressure, communicate and instill some confidence like we saw with Pines in his brief stint before injury. That confidence was a big factor for our defence as it rubbed off on those around him.
This suggests otherwise Match Analysis & Recruitment: Beyond the field, GPS systems have revolutionised match analysis and scouting. Tracking player positioning and movement during matches allows teams to identify patterns, evaluate tactical effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions to gain a competitive edge.
You googled that? It's obviously not our version of stats if he thinks that our defence is ok and.......it's the worst defence in the top 13 places based on goals conceded. How can it be defended?
Again, all I said was positioning is shown up on data collection, that was just an example for you. I’m not defending anything.
So let's **** off his stats then and sign players based on how good they are, cause he's an absolute puppet of the club.
I think the admission that we need LWB a keeper and replacement for Cole and Kane tells us were not looking at CB's..if we need 4 players in these positions before we kick off we should concentrate on geting them in asap...BTW is there any mention of Lofthouse returning anywhere other than the retained list..I like others am assuming he's coming back. Hope we didn't agree a loan to sell deal..
