Maybe or perhaps he went back to his boss and said he can’t find one but I can get these and his boss said yes? I’m not trying to defend him, the point really is no one knows what his brief actually is and his boss is saying he is doing a good job but very few seem concerned that the owner thinks that. What I would say, that I think he has done that is totally wrong is that he (+?) decided Collins had to adopt a specific tactic for the play offs and Collins wasn’t the right person. A DoF should not be deciding specific tactics.
What about his loan signings then? No transfer fee involved Rodrigues Slonina Craig Lembikisa Clubs with less budget than Barnsley have recruited better.
Where are these millions in player recruitment being spent? Off the top of my head Humphrys, hourihane, Lewis, Rodriguez, Craig, Slonina, lembikisa
but that isn't the analogy. The analogy here where we wanted a striker but randomly got a dodgy right back, a keeper, a left winger and a right winger is that I told you I needed a car for work and specified a few preferred luxuries. Low mileage, heated seats, big engine etc and I gave you £3k to do it. You looked and couldn't find one quite as good as that for £3k. Understandably really. Instead of doing the best you could and getting me an 'ok car' for the 3k which wouldn't be perfect but would do the job I needed it to do, you instead went out and spent the £3k on a caravan for a week in skeggy, a 15 inch portable TV and a pair of roller skates
No it’s not the analogy is he has a budget to work to, to buy players, if the budget is not realistic whose fault is it? If you want to create your own analogy feel free to but that’s not what I’m using.
The coach requested a striker. He brought in a goalkeeper, right back, left winger and a right winger but no striker.
But I wasn’t talking about individual players/positions I was talking about budgets otherwise I would have specified the car brief.
Ah now you've clarified that he wasn't supposed to use the budget to buy football players in football positions you're right. He's done a bloody great job.
Sorry, it’s not hard but I’m confused. I asked where was the millions been spent and then you’ve asked me as if I have claimed he’s spent millions? So I’m not sure if you are saying you agree he hasn’t spent millions or you think I’ve claimed he has?
No. I repeated your question and answered it. You: what do you want for dinner? Me: what do I want for dinner? I'll have fish and chips please
Bigger budget than last season, I don't for a minute know how anyone can even contemplate trying to defend our re recruitment, some of the players we've brought in aren't even L2 standard. We have assembled a bloated ridiculously poor squad, 4 head coaches have tried to get a tune out of them, 2 have been sacked for not being able to apply mladens playing style whatever that is and here we are splitting hairs over transfer budgets, which according to Mladen was sizeably bigger than 23/24. If its not plainly obvious now that he's a major part of our playing problems with a 24% home win record, then we're even more ****ed
So, if you read what I have said. I have not defended him, I said that, I even gave a specific criticism. I’ll go back to my original point in this thread that perhaps just perhaps it’s not his fault but the people above him. Don’t forget his boss, the owner said just the other day he was doing a good job. I’m just amazed very few have picked up on that. If you think sacking Somarz will solve all our problems you’re entitled to that opinion, personally I think it’s more than that, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some responsibility too but until we have a clear picture and not guesswork I’ll keep an open mind.
That’s an overview not a brief. A brief is the detail of his job that he is judged on. Sales, purchases, contracts, budget, success, failure, development, success of Academy and much more. None of know that detail we are guessing. Why not aim the accusations at Nareev? Ask the questions do you think it’s good enough, why, how, what are you going to do to change things etc
Neerav doesn't develop and implement the game model Neerav doesn't set the coaching methodology Neerav doesn't deal with re recruitment Neerav doesn't deal with players in/out and contract negotiations. I'm not defending neerav but stupidly he's not involved in the day to day running of the club. He's failed on every aspect since being appointed, again I refer to our home record since his appointment 7 wins from 29 games, Neil Collins 7 wins in 15 before Mladenball. I leave it there, let's see how our results pan out next season on the next playing philosophy and yet another head coach being sacrificed.
