I have avoided posting on this forum for a while now but I can't let your comment on Chris Froome pass without asking where his super transformation came from? Have you read his book?
I'd be gutted. Especially with Mo. But nothing in Athletics or Cycling surprises me anymore when it comes to drugs.
Me too. I don't follow athletics but I really like Mo however the whole image of athletics is so tarnished that I just would not be surprised at all. The only person in athletics that I'd be more gutted about, if they were outed as a cheat is Jess Ennis.
No way. Jess' rise to the top has been very gradual. She's also been beaten, and now she's starting again after her absence. Same with Bolt. Unfortunately, people like Justin Gatlin are allowed to remain in the sport. I actually wouldn't be massively surprised if mo got tagged. I'd be gutted, but not hugely surprised. As for cyclists, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if anyone came out as a drug cheat. Including froome and wiggins. The sport is too damaged
They're pretty much my thoughts too. I get the impression that Jess really is 100% clean and is at the top through nothing other than talent.

I'd put the mortgage on Farah. I really want Froome to be clean as it'd be terrible if team Sky were involved in doping but the sudden transformation from pack fodder about to get released by Team Sky in 2011 to best climber in the world 4 weeks later is pretty unbelievable & the connection to Leinders (doped riders at Rabobank) & Yates (worked alongside Armstrong & Bruyneel) is pretty worrying.
No. But I've heard the story about his illness which conveniently effects blood readings which would give someone an excuse for a pretty unusual biological passport. Again, I hope he's clean but I see the chances of it been incredibly slim.
I agree. It's going to be quality watching our two lovely ladies of Ennis-Hill and Johnson-Thompson battling eachother in contests over the next few years
Illness are you mistaking Froome for Armstrong? You should read Froomes book. He was born and brought up in Kenya and lived and trained at High altitude from an early age. This gave him adaptions Kenyan born athletes have. He also trained very hard as a teenager with much older riders in a cycling Club in Kenya. Some of the group were Kenyan International cyclists as Froome became himself before adopting his parents nationality. His Mother didn't want him to do it she said "you are a Kenyan boy" but he did it because he wanted to be a Continental Pro. He served as a climbing domestic before he was allowed to have a crack at general classification on the tour. That's a tough job. Wiggins owes his tour win to Chris getting him through the mountains. He proved then he was a GC rider and was given the leaders jersey and then Wiggo threw his dummy out of the pram. If he stays healthy he will win this years tour.
I'm confused. You've read his book but don't know about his illness? Surely it's in there. Bilharzia they call it. To be honest I don't subscribe to the Froome won Wiggins the tour line. Froome lost around 6 & a half minutes in the 2 time trials & the time he post in the first week through a flat tyre near the end of a stage combined. There was no way he could've made that time up in what was by Tour de France standards a very flat tour. On top of that Wiggins had Richie Porte & Michael Rogers to help in the mountains who were both in good form & were among the best 10 climbers in that race so it's not like he'd have gone without help. In a normal tour I'd take Froome over Wiggins every time but on that route with 2 long time trials & only 3 mountain top finishes I'd back Wiggins every time. I think Quintana will edge Froome this year but I think both could quite easily lose it in the first week with some of the classic type stages which favour Nibali. Can't see Contador been a factor after how hard he was worked in the Giro
