If you actually watched the games then it was a 4411. They used Winnall in a attacking one. He's not got anything to get inbehind so they got him to come short. Link and spin. Also with him deep he could sit on the oppositions defensive midfielder. If anyone went to Crewe could see what happened when he went in a 2. 45 minutes of David Fox controlling the game. and him not having anything with the ball. Second half he was a LOT deeper and he was linking okay and Barnsley took control of the game.
Cryne has repeatedly said he wants us to play 4-4-2 as that is what the fans wanted, Mansford said we recruit players to play 4-4-2, Hecky said we play 4-4-2. It was obvious we switched from a 4-4-1-1 in January. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have to agree with HT on this one. I confess I didnt notice it till the playoff final where Winnall played deep and Fletcher was effectively solo up top. The opening goal says it all. Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
With all due respect Mr Cryne will see Player description striker with another the same and think along with some on here it seems it's 442 when it's not. MrCryne will also say i'd imagine Leicester play a ridgid 442 when again they don't and heat maps and avg player position allows you to see this. It's not easy to get this info for league one for it to be seen easily. Not everyones like me and maybe thats a good think. People will watch a football match like a tv program and just watch. I spend most of my time thinking of alsorts. I'm a nightmare i'd imagine to sit next to.
Moncur is down as a CM on Fifa 16 & FM 2016. Besides everyone said Brownhill was an attacking midfielder and look how that turned out.
He's an attacking midfielder, or 'number 10' as Keith used to say. As was Brownhill before joining us. And Conor, until this season. I see a similar move into a midfield two for Moncur. But I'm only guessing. I will be stunned if he's played as a striker.
Brownhill is usually an attacking midfielder we just played him in a deeper role. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No offence but you are talking absolute bobbins. We played 4-4-2. Sam played in that two, up front. He scored 24 times last season. He created many other goals. More chance of me growing a fringe than anybody taking Winnall's spot next season, so long as we don't lose him to another club or through injury.
The system is 4-4-2. Of course, within that system they move around. But we set up in a 4-4-2 formation. As do Leicester. Now, I know you don't like to admit it because you constantly blew the trumpet for the ***** system that LJ played, but I'm sorry lad, facts are facts. Any number of interviews online with Mr Cryne, BM and Hecky where 4-4-2 is the stated system. But you carry on...
I just can't see Moncur would play that role. Conor and Brownhill were attacking midfielders but not in the same style as Moncur. They were more number 8s than number 10s if that even makes sense. Moncur is quick, strong and mobile. He would be wasted in the deeper role Conor and Brownhill played. His build is very much suited to playing as a forward however he seems to perform better in a deeper role. I can see 4-3-3 and 4-4-1-1 being used at times next season. We played 4-4-2. Leicester also played 4-4-2 with Vardy and Okazaki. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So the keeper never actually on average went in goal. Always hung around the penalty spot. How the hell he didn't get lobbed every week is beyond me
