And huth is one hell of a player to win the league as the only defender on average in a 1-1-1-1-2-1-2-1-1 formation AND he wasn't even playing central either. Reight player
We shall see. I'm sure we'll mix it up of course, but I'd be dismayed if we turn away from 4-4-2 after the success of last season. As for Moncur, I've not watched him often but when I have seen him he's played in a Higgy role, floating here, there and everywhere. Can we carry that sort of maverick AND Hammill in the second tier? Interesting/exciting times.
If you pick 10 stones at random from a river and weigh them, the average weight of them all might be 3lbs. However it's likely none of them will weigh exactly 3lbs. So Im not sure 'an average formation' tells us much.
Incredibly naive to think we'll get away with playing 4-4-2 all season in the Championship. We'd get ripped apart. I expect us to play plenty of games with Moncur playing just off the striker, whoever that may be. I don't think Moncur will be playing very often in a 4-4-2 system unless its as part of the 2.
I should adjust it and say we'd get ripped apart in some games. I definitely see us using 4-4-2 but we'll certainly use 4-2-3-1 in some games too, no doubt in my mind.
Thats probably my feelings on it. I'd be unbelievably surprised if Moncur plays more than 5 games in a Central midfield role in a 442. He played pretty much every game last year off the central striker, and when I've seen him, he hasn't got a tackle in him, and thats pretty much what my mate says who watches Colchester every week.
The same Bradshaw that is also chased by a string of bigger Championship Clubs? I get it, we're after signing him, but until we have I think we can lay off the team formation with him in it, quite yet.
I know we haven`t signed him yet or at all, my point is if we are even thinking of signing him then the management must have a system to accommodate playing him.
Can't really see Moncur on central midfield as Terry says he's a number 10. Particularly away from home it would be pretty suicidial to go 4-4-2. Can see Moncur being used as a no 10 in most away games whoever plays up top.
Houriane couldn't,t tackle or play in centre mid when he came here, but he can now so it,s some thing he could learn obviously takes time.
Bang fricking on!! Sam is quality. Probably our best striker in 10 years. He'll score goals whichever league he's in provided he gets the service. These petty little vendettas against fans favourites is getting really tedious!
