Moncur is not a Midfielder.

Have I got this right then, Andy? You're expecting us to play 4-4-1-1 next season? Moncur off Winnall?

I'm fully expecting us to go away from home with that kind of formation. If you look at where Moncur played for Colchester against us he was a kind of 2nd striker that floated around just behind the central man.

Thats where I see him for us. He's more Beardsley than Batty.

I can't see Winnall and Moncur playing together in a two. We were most effective last season with Winnall dropping deep and Fletcher playing off the last man.

Just look at Fletchers goal against Millwal, or Winnall's against Walsall.

We need someone who will stretch opposition defences.

Do you think the plans are for 442? Two raiding wing backs in Yiadom and White, whilst the traditional back four full-backs' contracts are not extended. Looking at another young central defender from Plymouth to make three in the centre. I think it might just become the old 'Brazil' 5-3-2 formation.

Really can't understand why anyone thinks we will be playing anything other than 442 next season, as it's been stated by Hecky, Mansford (RIP) and Cryne following the end of the campaign that we are now recruiting to a 442 throughout the club. None of us have any idea where Moncur will play yet but as many have already stated Conor and Brownhill were both seen as attacking mids and both adjusted their game to play as a midfield two, so it seems entirely plausible that Moncur could have been recruited to play in that role. Alternatively, Moncur might play as a forward. It makes no difference to me whether you call it 442 or 4411. The majority of the time, one striker is going to drop off and the other is going to stay up top. And it may even alternate within game. It's all semantics.
