You've clearly not been today he was outstanding in the second half did some reyt graft and got us on the attack numerous times. Yes the pass for Moore was poor but there's a reason he's playing in League One and that's it, no idea how you can pick him out for criticism today.

I think Moncur can do a lot more and his pass to Moore was atrocious.... but it seems he has to have a blinder to be deemed to have put in an acceptable performance. He was ok today, not great, but at least showed glimpses of attacking creative intent. Due to his very underwhelming Barnsley career to date I can see why he gets singled out. That said, Thiam was considerably worse today. Others flattered to deceive. Moncur was average but by no means deserves to be singled out.

I blame Stendel for 2 points dropped today. Everyone knows Moncur can’t do 90 mins we’ll, he was decent enough but faded & out of the game after an hour & wanted replacing

I disagree. It was late in the game when he had the legs to sprint at their box before ballsing up so I don't think he'd faded

I think it was symptomatic of how far below our normal tempo we were for much of the game that Moncur and Thiam 'survived' the 90 minutes.

We missed Dougall and Potts badly.

Kenny sets the tempo at the back and plays those nice short but quick and incisive forward passes that help us make ground, that clearly nobody else can based on the first half performance when we ended up just farting about at the back almost in McNulty-esque stylee.

Potts is the one player who regularly surges forward through the middle of the park to give us options from the back and stretch the opposition defence and deep midfielders. We were really unable to shake Walsall out of their well-organised shape for that first half without Brad.

Hopefully we can soon get everyone fit and back from international duty so we can go back to the team that started the season with Woodrow in for Bradshaw. Victor and Moncur to come off the bench (and possibly Bahre challenging Thiam if the latter continues to be more 'Walsall' than 'Oxford').

    Easy - 25 August 1923. We won 3-2.

    And no, I wasn’t there

I know he pulled out a sprint there but him & Thiam are done after an hour, it’s happened in the last 2 home games, they stop showing for balls, the defenders & central midfielders have no options & we just end up giving the ball away & ending up under pressure.

I can’t see why Isgrove and / or Brown couldn’t have come on for them

    Waste of bandwidth.

Moncur had a decent game and could easily have won the game today. He didn't fade as the game went on and was involved in all of the counter-attacks in the second half, busting a gut to get into the opponents box from a corner at the other end. Give the lad some credit.

Oh and to the stupid git at the end who had a go at us for applauding the team for a decent performance, you're not worth a sh*t.

Do any of our players practice shooting? From the evidence today, they don't.

Genuinely thought Moncur had a decent game today. Tried getting things going and driving the ball forward even when he was out on the wing in the first half and then the second half when we went to 442.

Moncur never comes up with anything. Happy to see him go at the end of this season.

Didn’t he win us the game on Tuesday against Oldham? I’d consider that coming up with something.

At Scunny Moncur had an anonymous first half. Fair enough, players have them. Second half he was involved in all our attacks. He wasn't our best player, but he was part of it. Well worth his place in the side. And it looked like he was going to last the full game, which is a massive improvement on last season. Just before the 90th minute he took a short corner, received the ball back, but lost it. All players do, I don't blame him for that. He just let their player go, made no attempt to get back at him and they so very nearly scored. He was hauled off instantly and I thought that would be the last we'd see of him. You can't do that and it was clear that Stendel saw it and really wasn't happy. I've been surprised he's been given another chance.

Today he broke away and failed to play the right ball. I don't care about that. He didn't mean to get it wrong. Messi and Ronaldo make at least one poor pass every game. I do care that he won't dig deep to stop the opposition when it's clear there's a real danger and he was at fault for putting us there. I can't warm to a player like that.

Hammill did it once. It annoyed the hell out of me and I love Hammill. He never did it again. Moncur does it all the time.

    Completely agree.

It annoys me when players have the energy to join in counter attacks but then choose not to track back.
