As the saying goes: The lights are on [at Oakwell] but no-one's at home. It's frightening that we aren't on top of things during the January transfer window of all times.
They end though this season so if they go down and I imagine they have some big earners there they could be in trouble
Gambling on Joyce and Morsy keeping them up. Good gamble. Reckon they'll be absolutely fine. Shame we didn't sign him up but he was never our player. Good player as he was we move on a find someone better
Also. For Winnall read Vaz Te (top scorer, out of contract at the end of the season, leaves for a relatively small amount) For Morsy read Drinkwater (highly rated young midfielder, not our player, signs a deal somewhere else) ...?
Wigan fans won't be laughing if they've got players on big contracts and they're back in league 1. Still prefer our policy, even if we're stalling due to lack of staff.
They will be but remember that the parachute payment for this season will be paid in the coming summer and will be a fair few million
As others have said - this is more worrying than the Winnall one. I doubt there is much the club could have done to keep Winnall I think not sorting out the Morsy one is a proper **** up - at the time he signed a loan deal he wasnt wanted by Wigan to the extent they even agreed a transfer fee - surely we should have agreed terms with him so all we had to do was trigger the deal. As it was we left ourselves open to being gazumped - which is what the new bloke at Wigan has done, or presumably anyone else offering 100K could have done I am guessing this is more the reason Linton has gone. The loss of ******** Ben is looking more serious than I first thought
Long way to go yet in January so plenty of time to make signings. They certainly seem to be going all out for survival. I bet Morsy's on around £10k a week. Making the most of the parachute payments. When they run out, even if they don't go down, then what do they do?
