The most obvious one for me Was the 1-0 home defeat to Workington in 1974/75. http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2516&mid=14295#M14295 Almost as boring was the home game against Workington the following season. We drew 0-0 and Les Harris made his debut.
Barnsley 0 Grimsby 0 under Gudjon I think Barnard and maybe Gallimore(?) missed pens Apart from that utter *****
Barnsley 0 - Wimbledon 0 Think it was Bobby Collins last game in charge - less than 3,000 people there- think it was near the end of the strike
as i said, it,s the way they say it up ere no r and g, probably should be a u not the o an all, silly me
RE: Barnsley 0 - Wimbledon 0 How can you call a game in which gordon owen floored nigel winterburn with a right hook boring??? Okay, apart from that it was boring. Well apart from the right hook and winterburn then getting sent off when he stood back up after lengthy treatment. And then whining at the referee all the way off the pitch in the manner we came to know and love.
Wigan 1 - 0 Reds - highlight was watching a pigeon walk about in the centre circle for the whole 90 minutes. The bird was in no danger from any football on the deck, mind you if it had flown about a hundred feet above the pitch - well pigeon pie anyone?
