    John McGovern.

    At uni in 70s watched him at both Derby and Forest. Box to box player, great tackler and could spray passes with either foot. Used to stand in bewilderment as he got pelters from fans at both clubs.

    Clough signed him for Hartlepool, Derby, Leeds and Forest and I think he knew a bit more than the average expert on the terraces. Also amazed that he was never capped by Scotland.

    Returned to Yorkshire end of the 70s and a few years later stood gobsmacked on Ponte as Ray McHale took abuse. Who would want to play centre mid. eh...?
