You're probably right mate, but I think they'll be queuing up.
I might go for the club secretary job on a manifesto of more pies, better ale (via Loko) and more staff to serve punters.
I might even commission a pie in honour of Big Val, rock hard crust full of red meat and thrown at you from the back of counter. Have it!

I'd rather someone like Zuk briefly acted up (if he can handle the media side) and Conway stayed away. But we'll see what happens. Another period of significant change and a bit of fire fighting. Sadly it all feels quite normal for us!

Agree. If he goes to our competition then I won't wish him well, in fact I hope he fails and suffers the regular consequence of a WBA manager.

he could well struggle anyway .
He came to us , a side that was set up for his style of play and fans that had accepted it ( although by no means universally).
At West Bromwich he would have to start to assemble that squad and then get it used to his methods.
The fans down there don’t seem all keen on his style of play to start with so if they don’t start winning games quickly he could face opposition. And let’s face it teams have started to come to terms with and counter it in the Championship already .

Yeah, by no means is Val guaranteed success. He's opening himself up for a huge fall if this doesn't work.

His bank balance will look incredibly healthy though, regardless!

completely different kettle of fish taking the West Brom job. he came to us with the brief of avoiding relegation. 5 subs, no fans, no expectation. with West Brom it will be completely the opposite. they will be expecting promotion. the pressure will start to mount very quickly, if they find themselves outside top 4. there will be fans in the stadium and he won't have 5 subs to play with. he probably sees it as a free hit. if he fails, he'll get paid up and find another club pretty swiftly. I've said it for some time. managers are every bit as ruthless as players when it comes to moving on.

I'd love someone like him, but I think he'll stay at Wycombe.

Don't think he's motivated by money, he's been linked with bigger clubs before.

Barry Bannan. Not a happy chap. So many leaving behind the scenes. Can’t see him being there at the start of the season. ( interview on bbc radio Scotland unable to post the link.)
I’ll be surprised if they sign anyone that gets offers elsewhere.
    Behind every cloud. :)

Lee Johnson and Mark Robins probably, only two that have gone on to be semi-successful... But success is relative!

The love in with ainsworth blows my mind. They fluked promotion through the furthest back door ever, then never looked like making a fist of it in the champ.

He’s an objectionable, horrible, cheating sod. Everyone who plays under him is an objectionable, horrible, cheating sod. The Championship is a better place without the lot of them. There’s a reason nobody worth their salt has taken a punt on him.
