I think by and large he has been...

and whilst he did pull good saves off at Plymouth and Readding (where he had little to do in all fairness) he has cost us goals previously just as Muller has.

All goalkeepers cost their team the odd goal ...

..... from time to time, even top class Premiership keepers, suffice to say, Steele has not had a fair crack of the whip at Barnsley and I hope that now he is going to get his chance he shows everybody how good he is on an ongoing basis.

For what it's worth, I loved Muller when he first came, he was everything in a goalkeeper that we never had with Colgan, but he just wasn't the same after the knee injury and he has cost us lots more goals than Steele has pro-rata.

    youre spot on albatross
however when steele was in the team at the start of the year there were rumblings among the fans re the number of goals we were conceding and to be fair he was a bit goal line rooted,so when muller was brought back i had no real problem. However the manager missed a beat to keep them both reasonably happy by not playing steele in the cup games and by not leaving muller out in feb when he had a couple of mares.
The deteriotion in his kicking was " marked " and his comunication with foster verged on the " dont understand each other " at times.
So good luck and Thanks Heinz
Luke now has his chance he`s always wanted to be Number 1, so we need a decent number 2 that can keep him on his toes.
We ve got good money for heinz which i hope will be used to purchase the much needed proper centre forward ( how do you see ALAN LEE ) and the centre half we will need next year.

Steele was under tremendous pressure when ...

..... Muller was available again for selection because he knew that Davey and the majority of fans wanted Muller in the team. I think Steele will be a better keeper now that he is the 'No.1' and is not living in Muller's shadow.

I agree we need a centre-forward and another centre-half, not sure Alan Lee fits the bill, I think Bogo will get plenty of goals if he is given the right service, the main thing we need to do is hang on to JCR, but most importantly, make sure he stays on the bloody wing cos that 'free role' he was given by daft lad davey for 3 months nearly cost us our place in the Championship
