The Way I See It......... is if he goes for a million quid, I will feel let down by both the club and Muller himself.
We might well have Dont forget the £1 million is from a Sunday Paper as reported by Dreamboy - Thats about as believable as a Peter Risdale financial reassurance. Could just be the agent doing some fishing - once the interest is secured mention the actual release value is £3million or whatever
Why should you feel let down by Muller? It's not as though he's a local lad, it doesn't matter to him if he plays for us, Bristol City, Fulham or whoever. He's not a young player and there's no way the club should deny him the chance to play in the Premiership.
Because......... i'd feel letdown that after four months of football with us, he's moving on to play second or even third fiddle at some premiership club and using some clause in his contract to give us no choice but to sell. Anyway there's no proof of a clause yet and you never know, we might get to find out from the people in the know (our board or manager, not SM).
Don't forget it's still up to him... He can choose if he wants to stay, even if he has a release clause. I would hope that he would stay in the hope of having a tout for the premiership next season with the Super Reds. Celtic want him for Boruc, if he leaves in January and Derby, Wigan and Fulham are all rumoured to be interested. But would he want to go from a first team which has bonded well and is on the up to playing reserve football, or being on the bench for a team which is on the slide (Celtic excluded). In two years time, he could find himself in the Championship on the bench, rather than staying for the possibility of a first team place with us in the Premiership. If I were him, I would stay at Oakwell for the two years of his contract, but then I support the Reds!
