Yeah I've seen them with Kenny Jones too (mid 80's) at Birmingham; not a bad drummer but not as good as Starkey or Moon but then again nobody was as good as Moon in my opinion.
Thing I loved about them live, was that you had three out and out showmen in Townshend. Daltrey and Moon giving it large...But I couldn't take my eyes off Entwhistle who appeared like he couldn't give a ****.
Even now Townsend and Daltry are still showmen but I know what you mean about Entwistle but what a bass player he was.
A band I've recently discovered. The Strypes. They sound like a 70's rock band, remind me a bit of t-rex, the kinks and a few others from that era. Just bought their debut album which is in the charts at present, pretty decent.
