    This is how farcical the USA were at the time of the McCarthy communist witch hunts . One of his accusations was based on his relationship with the South Wales miners which among many mining communities inc Barnsley had seen members fight in the Spanish Civil War.
    It really was an hostile place at the time in America and a backwards Spanish style inquisition.
