Lovely message, thank you, really appreciate it. And yes, you've got the right person with his pre-teaching career!
So sorry for the loss of your Dad. I think you are among several of us on here who have lost their Dad. I miss mine every day. I regularly think of the bond we had through football, through Barnsley FC and can't help but smile. Home or away, win lose or draw, they were happy days at the time and precious memories now. Look after yourself in these coming weeks especially, sending love and condolences.
He always talked about you given the chance!! Geography, model railways, BFC and his hatered of sliced white bread! Funny how you remember this stuff! I had him at Darton from 1984 to 1988. He was lethal with the chalk and board rubber as well!! He always said his surname is what all geographers needed!
I left Darton in 88, so I guess we were in the same year, unless you went to the 6th form. I was in 'D'.
No mate, I was in D as well!! Left in 88 to go to Barnsley College. Despite my favourite teachers attempt to keep me in the 6th Form!!
Well, we must have been in the same class. I can still recite some of the register Abbott Almond Allen Barraclough Barnard Binns Bowes Brown Brown Brown Bywater etc etc etc
You were raised on Airedale Road, Kexbrough. Your junior school teachers were Mrs Beacroft, Mr Steele, Mr Johnson, and Ms Howley. You had a beautiful peddle car when you were 5 years old.
