Not sure. Was certainly at end of 88/89 season and was either a draw at Stoke or a victory at Leicester, Man City or Walsall..... Not a bad run considering my first two home matches were defeats at about the same time!
Re: Don't take this personally, mate Not sure,I remember Barry Murphy diving full length to head a shot off the line in the last couple of minutes.
Re: Don't take this personally, mate Mine was, 1966/1967 Sat 03 Dec York City 0 - 3 Barnsley Fourth Division , I can still remember the excitement at going into the ground, this match was about a month after we were rock bottom of Div 4 but we were on a run similar to this year at the time of this game.
So, you were born The day after we lost at Doncaster. http://www.barnsley-mad.co.uk/results_service/1969_1970/30/aug/index.shtml I was born the day before we hammered Southend. http://www.barnsley-mad.co.uk/results_service/1959_1960/5/sep/index.shtml
York City, League Cup (and replay) August 1976. I was three. I remember we were leaving the ground near the end as a goal went in and the Stewards wouldn't let us back in so my dad pushed my brother back through (he was 11) and said we had to go back in to fetch him! I also recall small fires on the away end. As a young un my dad took me to all the Yorkshire derbys. On my dad's wage, every home game was like an away game with an 80 mile round trip but we hardly ever missed one. He'd lift me and our kid over the turnstiles and give the bloke behind it a few bob towards a pint. There must have been hundreds of kids getting in in those days without being accounted for on the official attendance! Being from Harrogate, the place is full of Leeds Scvm and they had a big supporters club branch here. We used to go on their coaches to Elland Road and I remember after beating them in1983 getting dropped off and as the coach pulled away I took out my red and white scarf and waved it at them goodbye Happy days!
