Usually I would just blank the deadwood when they come over and clap the few players that tried or had a good game. Booing at the whistle is a signal of general discontent.
different context no one would boo a player if they were standing with them one on one because it is just different in that scenario
It was just a joke... Not a very good one, granted. But to take the argument further you could suggest that booing on a message board offers the same level of anonymity as booing from a crowd would.
I think most will agree you're just making it up as you're going along now. I'm confused. Do you boo or not? You now applaud the ones that you think have done well and ignore the others? How do you know the "happy clappers" aren't doing exactly the same as you?
But you could be sat near their parents. I regularly see Bradshaws parents and Barnes dad at away matches. I feel uncomfortable for listening to some comments.
I am talking only about a bad performace and result. Good performance and result I would usually clap and sing the whole team off. I am not negative by any stretch I just act as appropriate to the situation
We all know this, and I attended all 5 of them. Doesn't make me want to write a predictive post about which players I expect to be rubbish tomorrow. I'll be going in hope as I always do, otherwise what's the point?
Looks like one of these told you so threads as if you want it to happen so you can take the high ground
I want to know how the players know if it's them being clapped or not. Does he turn away and clap expressively towards one player or does he pause between clapping and say 'not you' when Potts comes over before starting again for the player stood next to him? I think it would all be very confusing.
me too. Relieved to have finally kept a clean sheet despite being dominated for most of the match which shows resilience. Of course though today was yet another indicator that we need to invest in a goalscorer & winger next month
Today was more than an indicator that your posting name is an accurate description of your clairvoyancy.
To be fair as someone said to me at half time we could have Aguero up front and still not look like scoring. So though we do need another striker today didn’t do much to tell us that. As for wingers we have Isgrove and Hedges to come back from injury. It’s our midfield where we are sadly lacking. We could do with another Matty James type signing in January. I do wonder what a Mallan has to do to get a kick though.
