if want to wear my colours I will. The only reason I don't

is that you can struggle to get into pubs. Even it Tarn, Doorman at White Bear wouldn't let me in after the we came back from Liverpool.

Whilst its not nice to say...

Wearing colours for a derby match and then getting the tram is asking for trouble.

I'd never go anywhere near a derby match away from Oakwell in colours. Well, except when 3 of us bowled up to Donny this season but we were in the car and made a quick getaway....

    Why say it then?

Any fan should be able to wear their colours whether it's Sheffield Wednesday away or Plymouth at home

It's the responsibility of the police to make sure that fans can go to a game in their colours and not end up with a broken nose

He said it cos it's a fact that wearing colours away ....

.... from home, especially at a derby game, draws attention to you, hence heightens the prospect of getting a smack

Well in that case then aways fans should keep their mouths shut after the game because they have different accents to the home fans

If you get caught out with your accent and smacked it's your fault?

    **** that

I've been to Hillsbrough half a dozen times with Barnsley shirt, scarf etc on and never had any bother - probably cos we've lost though!

I'm buggered if I'm bowing to such hooligans.

Barnsley kit will be continued to be worn to away games - if I get hit so be it.

For ****'s sake - I'm on about away games in general

Half the posters in this thread are making out it's tough **** if you get punched at an away game if you're wearing colours

Every chance your accent will get you a smack ....

...... especially at places like Upton Park, Ninian Park, Anfield etc.

I'm not saying it should happen mate, it clearly shouldn't, but the reality is, it does happen

I don't think they are making out it's tough sh*t. What they are saying is you have to be aware its a possibility at away games, as it is for away fans in Barnsley

If you come out of a ground as an away fan p*ssed, in colours, singing and celebrating a win then you have to be careful. I personally choose to not wear colours to a lot of away games and to keep fairly quiet till we are away from the opposition fans

You have to be aware of how you behave in many situations, this is one of them. Not saying it's right but thats life
