My wife's school had a school trip to a Mosque yesterday

Thousands and thousands in this country. Happens all the time.

 

That maybe the case on their school trip, be will you're wife and her friends be going with them if they decide to visit again in the future due to this first trip ?

 

Personally I think all kids should be hidden away, either in the cupboard under the stairs or the cellar, so we can protect them from everything and everyone. It's just a Nightmare this modern world.

 

Well lets just say they did want to go back and the parents wouldn't let them who are the one's doing the brainwashing?

I agree with you, but it's seems most people replying in this thread are accusing people of being ignorant and implying their views are racist what I'm trying point out is this may not be the case. It's a sad sate of affairs but as soon as something like this happens it's automatically because they are uneducated racists when that's not always the reason, and people are just jumping to conclusions because of the nature of the subject

 

Like Jay said, they do but don't particularly need to - they're surrounded by our culture & history.

Middle class white kids in leafy suburbs don't necessarily understand Islam or any othe religion - hence why they learn it.

Are they planning to go to a Catholic church on the way back then?

 

Who knows but if they do and some parents of Muslim children refuse to let their children go because of fears they may come to harm who are we on here to condemn them for their over protective attitude towards their kids ?.
And if they did would it provoke the same reaction this as ?

 

One of the benefits of my move to Bradford has been the opportunity to learn about other cultures, other ways of life. Been really eye-opening, enlightening. Not that I've gone out of my way to try and find reasons to be angered etc, but seriously, I'm yet to come across an asian who fits the stereotype stuffed down our throats incessantly by the media. I have found lots of deeply religious folk though. And extremely family orientated.

It's not just 'us' though. Because I also spend a lot of time among eastern european migrants, I've noticed a fair few of them are very backward in their understanding of asians. But then again, the asians aren't too keen on them either. Humanity eh? It's a funny old game.

 

I'm not an expert on "kiddie fiddling" but I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen in this way on organised school trips with teachers about.

 

As I've already stated in this thread it may not be the trip itself but the bigger picture of getting young people into visiting these places and making the children think these places are safe when in reality this isn't the case, wile I understand your point and you are right as I too can't imagine kids coming to harm on a school trip, but once the trip ends who's to say they don't want go back and who's going to look after them then ? Everyone seems to be going off as though the parents are racists and totally wrong in their views but that isn't always the case, when I was a lad (mid 90s) one of my mates wasn't allowed down oakwell because of football violence and hooliganism dose that mean is mum is a racist or just over protective and is she so wrong in her views ? who's to say she was wrong he might have got a crack unlikely but possible

Because, if they aren't blowing up the mosque, then they are fiddling with kids all the time!

Lost for words or not, people are really protective when it comes to their kids, so jumping to the conclusion that they are automatically racist is just wrong as I've posted they could be a number of reasons for their protectiveness. You might not agree with these reasons but that doesn't mean they're wrong

 

What reality are you referring to? Have you ever visited a mosque? I have. It was like a church. People were praying etc. I was with a muslim mate like, so thanus, perhaps they'd have beheaded me had I been alone.

 

Sorry, you're right, I'm having a bit of trouble following the logic.

I used to live next door to a mosque. As in right next door. No one ever got blown up. I went in a couple of times and no one fiddled with me either. Unfortunately.
