I don't have any intrest in the premiership the amount of times I have watched motd in the past few seasons I could count on one hand. I don't go out of my way to watch any game. If we got there again yeah it would be great but I wouldn't want us to throw money at it to get there that we havent got..... mind you we have 25 million under matress.
As for reading I thought they were skint and in massive debt if I were them I'd be more wise with money than spending 10million on naki wells.

Do I want to get promoted? Yes. Do I then want us to be a club like Stoke or West Brom who would rather rest players in a major cup tie that represents their only realistic chance of ever winning anything? No.

Reading all this makes me think we ought to just pack it in. Football is about winning, playing against the best wherever possible, what is the point if we don't have that ambition?

It must be 10 times more enjoyable being a Reds fan than a Bolton fan right now though.

I really don't give a flying **** how enjoyable it is or not being a Bolton fan to be honest. What we are talking about is folk suggesting that we don't want to be in the Premier League and how daft (or otherwise) a position that is. For me, you either want to play at the highest possible level or you pack it up, it is as simply as that. That applies to AFC Fylde or BFC or Man United.

I'm suggesting I don't want us to be in shitloads of debt trying to chase the dream of the PL. If we make it, somehow, I hope we make it within our means. Whether that is possible or not within modern football, I don't know.

I'd say it is very very unlikely but some in this thread have suggested they don't want it regardless of how we get there, which is frankly barmy.
