Thing is, we never get to know how much these deals are worth. £100 million for the naming rights of Oakwell, even I'd take that and I'm a proper traditionalist/sentimentalist. £1,500 and I wouldn't. But I'll never get to know if it's the former or the latter. Best I'll get is 'a significant amount' or '6 figures' or summat like that. £1,000.99 is 6 figures, they wouldn't be lying. So is £999,999. A difference of about a million, give or take.

I'll never be able to say I'm OK with it because I'll never know how much money it has generated and without that knowledge I'd be commenting on something I haven't a clue about. When we start getting told how much things cost or bring in, I'll be able to start giving an informed opinion. Until that time, I'll remain against it.

    I'm with the traditionalists.

45 now, 3 when I started and have vivid memories of Kop, Brewery and Ponty, along with the very barrier we used to occupy for years on the south terrace.

I sometimes used to move around the ground at half-time, get on the Kop to watch Co-op Sports.

Wherever I am, the mere mention of Oakwell fills me with a wonderful warm feeling, triggers those memories, takes me back to something totally engrained in me.

    Don't let's sell our soul.
