They do like all things Barnsley but I do not see Duff being under the radar of any championship clubs yet & I am sure there will be the usual gang of out of work managers chomping at the bit to have a go at Luton should the position become vacant .
Some of their fans are turning their noses up at suggestion of Dyche or Wilder if he leaves... Jesus wept. Funny what one decent season can do to the football ego in fans
Thoughts @Pelly !? You don't get many opportunities of this magnitude though, can't blame him for wanting to take the chance.
Imagine watching him whinge every week on MOTM about VAR it’s going to be hilarious. I might start watching it.
Football fans are generally way too naieve. If he’d only been back at Luton a day, he would still go if a PL club came in. He knows he would at least quadruple his salary overnight and even if he was absolute $hite, he’d get his contract paid up and would go straight back to L1 at worst. An absolute no brainer. Any Luton fan saying they wouldn’t do the same, is either lying or deranged.
Also Southampton is arguably perfect for him career wise. If he goes and keeps them up happy days, equally if they go down despite having plenty of time to turn it round plenty will cut him some slack and blame the previous management. If he does go down Southampton are positioned to be challenging at the very top of the Championship. Raises his profile either way to be the next Welsh Manager if it becomes available over next couple of years.
Indeed, there's very few circumstances I can think of why you would turn down the Saints job to stay at Luton.
This would be my take if I were a Luton fan: The key that you're holding won't fit my door And there's no room in my heart for you no more
agreed. why on any planet, a PL team think he's the best choice is beyond me like. but hey, people voted for Brexit, Tories, Donald trump. people are capable of all sorts of mad $hit.
Lets hope he goes, and that Luton Fc explodes without him, err I mean in a football sense lol. And even better, he hand picks his faves in January, like Charlton Morris.
I think he will sign one or two Luton players. On paper most people would think why would you sign Luton players for the Premier League. But it's like what Danny Wilson says in his book when speaking about his second stint with us and that's you can't just go off stats. There are a lot of things stats don't tell you like is the person a dressing room leader? Are they a positive personality around the club? Would you want to go in to battle with them? So many more different things.
