It's obvious you were not on strike in 1984 fighting for your job stood on a picket line with police running at you with truncheons and on horseback, it would have opened your eyes if you had been at Orgreaves like I was stood there picketing and came away covered in blood both mine and my brothers blood who was severely injured by one ******* on a horse. Talk about sumat tha knows about Tory boy.

He didn't just "wade-in" though did he? He was running and hit the lad on the head with the fullest force he could muster. This is not justifiable under the circumstances: the circumstance being 3 dickheads having handbags.

Orgreave is easy to bring up in these discussions because it's the major flash point and got the most media attention. What is hardly discussed is the police going round the houses with their dogs and their riot gear causing havoc, battering poor folk, trashing houses and even setting dogs on pets.

If you were involved in any way in the strike or had family who was, you'd know the acting authories were disgusting and constantly abused their powers, much like you see in the video today.

Given the long and illustrious history of South Yorkshire police - be it Beating up strike breakers dressed in civvys so that miners could be blamed, or changing evidence “everyone was dead at 3:15 pm” ( oh eye) or turning a blind eye to paedophile rings, it’s a wonder they’re not pelted with rotting veg every time they go out.

It doesn't really matter what happened "prior to these events". The police officer wasn't defending himself, so it was clearly inappropriate to hit him around the head with a baton.

Really adrenaline made him run from wherever and accidentally strike too high ? It’s a fair way from the back of the knee to the head innit?

Maybe he was defending himself? Maybe he wasn't, but the police response wasn't proportionate.

Maybe if you get a blow to the head in unfortunate circumstances you might change your mind?

    Maybe...
