What is the surprise managerial move then?

 

Here we go again.

Better than 95% of the division? Really? How many of our squad get into the Portsmouth, Derby or Bolton sides?

Can we make our minds up? The opinions on this forum massively overdo it in one direction or the other.

Either the squad is THAT good and the division is THAT weak that we should have walked the division or the squad is massively deficient and we have a defence that can't defend, two right wing backs who are useless, a left wing back that's so far out of form it's ridiculous, a midfield that has no depth and the cover for Connell is the worst player to ever put on boots and play in League 1 while our leading scorer is a workshy flop. Only McAtee is worth his place in the team. And he's spent after 65 minutes because he sliding challenges the opposition keeper every 30 seconds.

Time to face facts. Like most of the teams in this division we have a squad that has weaknesses. We have some good players who on their day could play at a higher level but currently aren't the finished article, hence them being at Barnsley in League 1. We're not better than 95% of the teams in this division. Neither are we worse than that value. We're above average and on a good day and to challenge the best sides. On a bad day, we struggle against some of the poorer sides, especially those that are compact and direct.

Too many people on here starting to suffer with a case of the Wednesdays.

 

That’s the bit I couldn’t find. The article didn’t match the headline.

 

It was decent of him to wait until after the playoffs to release a statement too. Very classy to step away from the limelight and not take attention away from the team.

 

Took him this long to react to losing his job, a bit like what happened with his actual job.

 

Fair play to the bloke for writing that. Can’t say that I really disagree with him either.
