I'm not about to kneel down and kiss Wednesday's arse over this. It's an ethical flat line as far as I'm concerned, they are not to be commended for doing something that is a moral given. They would have been on a hiding to nothing had they accepted this bid, so what the heck?

You could argue that online betting firms are just as predatory and should be treated with the same contempt. I wasn't too impressed at BFC for the VodkaKick sponsorship a few years back either.

I didn't like an agressively marketed product aimed at teenage/underage drinkers and binge culture being associated our club. I don't know who owns the firm. Don't forget I'm a right pain in the arse, effing right on, do-goody basket, tha knows!

The man who owns the company or at least did when we were sponsered by them is from Chesterfield.

He owns Chesterfield FC or at least he used to, he aquired the land for there new stadium, and sold part of it to Tesco. Across the road from the new stadium is the Casa hotel, he owns that too. VKs head office is on the top floor of that building.

Don't think it's all down to financial nous it's sometimes down to plain desperation. I worked at Barclays for 14 years and have done voluntary work for Citizens Advice and have dealt with a lot of people in financial ruin. There are also some who I have no sympathy for whatsoever and they are quite knowledgable on how to get every penny of credit available with no intention of ever paying it back

Pay day loans are aimed primarily at younger folk who when it comes to money haven't a ****ing clue.

There seems to be a attitude of I want the nicest shiniest things now now now rather than save and pay for it.

CAB etc dont exactly help as a lot of the advisors ive dealt with don't really have a gumption.

A lot of CAB workers are voluntary so unfortunately a lot don't have much training. I worked for a short period for collections at Barclaycard and on the arrears & repo section at Barclays mortgages for over two years so I'd got knowledge from both sides so I think I had a bit of gumption!

Definitely agree with the I want it now attitude. Unfortunately I'm the same to an extent, my Mum used to call me Veruca Salt!! Wouldn't dream of getting a payday loan or anything like that though

You've seen nothing until you've seen consumer credit councils budgeting guide.

You can't make what it suggests on there.

It makes the salts look prudent.
