I'd say most football fans would think this way. The same teams winning the league year after year is not healthy. If Hamilton were to do the unthinkable and go on and win the league, it would have been done on sheer merit of having been the best team throughout. And I'd be first to congratulate them or any team which did it. Except Dundee, you will understand. LOL I fully expect even more very dodgy refereeing decisions to go Celtics way in the coming weeks. All in Celtic's favour of course.
Would you not feel it to be a missed opportunity if Celtic have a disastrous season and finish 3rd behind Hamilton and Dundee United? Personally if I was a Dundee United fan and we were to finish 2nd behind Hamilton, i'd feel gutted that we haven't fully taken advantage of Celtic's probable only off season. That is just me mind. That said I'd expect a Hamilton supporter to feel the same way if you were to win the league. I don't think it's as unbelievable as you think, they've looked dreadful on the occasions I've seen Celtic so far and there's 11 other teams in that division who would take great pleasure in defeating Celtic, more than any other team.
Archey there is not too much between most of the other teams in the league so tbh should Celtic fail to do what most expect and not win the league then every other team would deem it a missed opportunity. Another 2or3 defeats for Celtic and this could end up one almighty scramble for the title. But I fully expect Celtic to be up there challenging at the end of the season. Unfortunately.
As you say, the main issue with the SPL is that aside from Celtic, there is little difference between the other 11 sides. So anyone can beat anyone, which could potentially hand the title to Celtic. Although I don't have much interest in the SPL (don't take it personally, I don't have much interest in the EPL either), I would love for someone to capitalise on what seems to be an off season for Celtic.
I don't blame you for not taking an active interest in the SPL. Archey going by some attendances in the SPL there seems little interest from Scots for the SPL. LOL Our match on Friday night away to Kilmarnock, live on BT Sports attracted 3,500 to the game. 533 in the visiting end. TBH that is an embarrassing attendance for supposedly top flight football. TV ruining football as a spectator sport and club chairmen canna see it. And £22 for the pleasure is all wrong. Back to your point mate, I agree the league needs someone to take up the challenge and go on a good run. So why not Hamilton? Although obviously I'd love it to be United.
No offence Ian, pal, but there were threads galore on here when Alex (Alec) Neil guided them up last season. Congratulatory posts, for him and Jason, Jason. The only stick he'd get relates to him as a player back in the day, and his propensity to get pissed in Barnsley rather than train, improve, be professional. I wish him and Accies well. He wasn't great for us, but he was better than lots since and before. He was replacing Hignett. Nobody was capable of following that lads 18 months at Oakwell. Nobody that we could afford at that time anyway.
