*cough*

You can see why non football supporters in the BMBC area kicked off at that.

Will the council get any income from the flats that have been built on Ponty Road ?

I still think there is much waste spent in the private sector, just no-one cares about it

I think the public sector eats babies, just that nobody cares about it.

There may be waste, but in a private organisation, or at least one that wishes to remain in business, it gets sorted.

Nothing against the private sector mate, where I started out. But having worked in the public, private, and not for profit sectors I've seen as much money wasted in each. The only diference being the press are uninterested in the waste in the private sector so it doesn''t make headlines

Why, what do you think the going rate is for project managers in the private sector?

Because for a multi-million pound scheme such as building 3 new Park and Rides its more than that mate

I was just being facetious - for a change.. If that's the case I'd guess it's because the press view waste or excess in the public sector as 'our' money being spent - unfortunately they involve all the poor sods at the sharp end who are just doing a job of work.

No worries mate, and I completely understand why it angers the public more as it is their money. Its just the suggestion that its more prevalent in the public sector when my experience is that it is just reported more.

there are a lot of dead wood in local authorities who have found themselves in postions of power simply because of length of service, but there are also lots of talented hardworking people at all levels who choose to do it because they believe there job is helping people.

£65000 for a ministry of justice

should be higher than that if you want to compete with lawyer firms and solicitors!

I don't mind paying for services

but I resent bitterly paying obscene salaries to faceless bureaucrats who make all the important decisions but answer to no-one.

why not introduce a £1000 fine for littering.....

...to be worked off at national minimum wage, cleaning up.

that'd cut littering, and thus save councils money. not that it would mean a reduction in council tax, mind, but at least the streets would be nicer.
