I would absolutely be against this. Great player and may well turn out to be a great manager eventually but there's nothing to suggest he's up to the job at this point.

I'd love to be wrong and for us to crush the league with him as manager but I don't think it would be a sensible appointment.

 

Not what I've heard

 

He wouldn’t. Getting sacked at Leeds, Hibs and Blunts has probably been very lucrative for him.

Bearing in mind the current regime equipped its last two managers to reach consecutive playoffs, irrespective of any shortcomings, I think that statement says more about Hecky than them.

He’s had better players to work with at blunts and Leeds, and just like Little Lee in Scotland, managing Hearts or Hibs only carries the expectation of trying to be ‘the best of the rest’ behind the old firm, got the boot at all 3.

 

Just wish they'd give us some form of update or ideally an announcement already.

Put a stop to all these rumors. We were told we'd be updated in the coming days when Collins left and here we are just shy of a month after Collins left, and we are sill none the wiser as to what's going on.

 

Probably a learning curve in there for Mladen, they probably thought they had their man in Thalhammer, he'll come to realise with time that when you say a few days, Barnsley folk will expect you to do what you say.

 

Not sure it is just a Barnsley folk thing.

Sure fans of any club would be frustrated if they were told what we were told and still not heard anything for basically a month.

We have had nothing but radio silence.

To be fair to Mladen he's probably fully aware of what Barnsley folk expect. He is a Yorkshire man after all and we're all as blunt as eachother.

 

With the best will in the world, I doubt that the club will give updates with negotiations ongoing.

 

Or incompetence. Incompetence would explain it as well.

 

I don't expect updates telling us who they are interviewing, have spoken to etc. (although for a nosey bugger like me I would love that)

But just to acknowledge they are still doing something and working to fix it etc. But all they care about is telling us about pie night.

Just something to reassure fans.

 

Best thing is to wait and see. Can’t get excited about rumours

 

Maybe the club are dotting a few i's and crossing a few t's and then looking to announce both at the same time.

 

Also a fair possibility.

I know, but you know what I mean surely? Would be nice to hear something from them

I work in IT and have done for years since leaving uni. When we have a major outage etc. We have to put staff comms out updating them as it is being fixed.

Most probably don't care until it is fixed, and they are all aware we are looking at it, but it is just what is done to reassure people we are doing something. Our board just seem happy to let us sit here in the dark until they can be bothered to update us.

It’s pretty obvious our head coach recruitment hasn’t gone to plan and that’s fair enough but i would respect them more if they were honest enough to say what went wrong regarding Thalhammer and Duff instead of the chronicle saying it’s our understanding that this or that went wrong or in other words give us an official update like they promised.
