Bus trip to the amalfi coast, Pompeii of course - get the train it's dirt cheap, Herculaneum as well - we didn't get there but wish we had, again get the train. Never got to Capri - thought it might be too much of a tourist trap

I learnt to drive in my dad's Capri.

That new one is not a Capri, why bother using the name?

    That's heresy, not a capri.
What's this fascination with rehashing old classic names with new *****. Or even old ***** models with new *****.....like the Viva.

I've always liked Ford's, going back to the Capri's that Bodie & Doyle used to whizz about in, as The Professionals.
My favourite Ford though, is the chunky Cortina mk 3. :)

Went when i was a kid, hydrofoil from Naples. Tiberius' summer palace is a must. You can sense the debauchery. There is a terrace where they threw orgies with "ladies of the night" then threw them off a 200 foot cliff so they wouldn't tell the tale.

In the 1970s for a glorious and brief time my Dad had a Mk1 Capri RS3100 (google it if you don't know). It was democratic. A working class Aston/BMW 3.0CSL and loud and proud. Really said something. This is some non-entity attempt to cash in by a global company who show they don't care anymore. I could get angry, but I'm just going to give it the big MEH it deserves.

It’s a decent looking car as modern SUV’s go.

But it isn’t a Capri. Poor choice to recycle the name in this way.

We were in Sorrento last week for 5 days and did a trip to Capri which was brilliant, very busy and expensive but well worth seeing. Id recommend to pre book the tours that you fancy because it's difficult to get about when you're there. We could see the Amalfi coast from our balcony and Positano was only 4 miles away but got quoted €120 one way in a taxi whereas a full day Amalfi coast boat tour for 2 people and hotel pick up could be booked for not much more.

It's a beautiful area and very scenic, hopefully you'll love it mate, we booked our trips through Viator and a company called Cooperative S Antonio who were brilliant, even the minibus trip to the small harbour where they sail from had stunning views of Vesuvius, bay of Naples etc.

Not ideal but worked our reasonable hired a moped for the pair of us ,so all the island easy in a day ,and surprisingly not too stressful.
We just looked like Dumb and Dumber

That Capri wasn't the first Capri...the original model looked nothing like it.

How do you know what Capri my Dad had?

That original one is closer to the 70/80s model than the new one, you can see similarities.
