    RE: We're not Manchester City

We'd need to sell twice as many to reach the target. Highly unlikely.

get your fecking act together barnsley

Come on own up, which genius decided that the best way to launch a shirt was to take three seperate photos and just badly stick them all together on photoshop to make it look like they were stood next to each other yet forget to put the shadows in so everyone knows they werent?

Who was it who decided to use well god knows who to promote the shirt. Was RNL and Rob Knowles' kids unavailable this year or something?

And which budding apprentice to Sir Alan thought that it would be a good idea to launch the kit without having any available to look at in the clubshop?

I think the that PC should be going to the marketing department and uttering those immortal words, YOU'RE FIRED.

    Is it really that unlikely?

£20 i'd buy one, £40 i've not bought one for over 5 years. Judging by the complete lack of barnsley shirts worn around barnsley and even at oakwell on matchdays the last couple of years i'd say that to double the amount sold wouldn't require many extra sales.

I see plenty around me in the Ponty

I think plenty still pay £40, but I agree with LD, if we halved the price, I very much doubt we'd sell double...of course some who won't buy a shirt would buy one, but some people might not like it etc, and so perhaps wouldn't buy one regardless.I'd imagine most clubs below the prem have to sell shirts for higher prices because they know they don't have the market/demand that bigger clubs have.

Haven't the majority of clubs in our league lowered the price?

Or increased the lifespan of a shirt?

    I do like your thinking

If you identify flaws in something then you obviously want the job yourself. By the same theory at least 100 BBS users will be standing for election to become MPs and have all applied for the job of running the countries banks

No but invoke constant critism on the level that you do, just wondering can you do the job better.

No, you said I want the job, which job?

By the way, PR and website is the same one. And my criticism of the club shop is down to marketing anyway, so thats two jobs then, not the four that you claim

the hea dof marketing is responsible for all marketing aspects at the club so it will include corperate as well as making sure the goods are in the club shop as well and ensuring the correct advertisments are placed with relevant compaines.
running the club shop is different from being in control of marketing as you would be responisble for stock control, stock management staff control and mercahndising, all soley retail based aspects.
The wbsite should be run by a dedicated nerd type who can put his entire 40 HPW towards ensuring that it is the best on offer and only put on the website what he is told by the head of PR who is responsible for th entire press campaigns for the club.

    Four different jobs.

Publicity wise the club is going wrong by asking someone to do that role. if you cannot do the job then why do you constantly belittle The person that currently fullfills that role. Even though he is out of his depth I doubt he makes mistakes on purpose or out of spite. Sometimes the comments thrown his way are nothing short of bullying.
