Maybe a question for JAQ at a future forum, the shirts sales over the past few seasons, I'd bet last seasons kits wins hands down.
Absolutely, I've seen loads and it's not just from what we see around town, it's the first time it's been on sale in anywhere besides the club shop and the views of the kits were over a million on twitter, we're lucky to get 100k normally. No other kit will drum up that much media hype, whether good or bad. I've bought it, it's in bag - a collectors item, they'll be putting them on eBay again in 20 years. Edit. Just checked the views on twitter, main release has 148k but the most out there kit, the third one - 1.6m.....
Where is it available that it wasn't usually? And views of a video doesn't necessarily mean more sales especially when you consider that the majority of public replies and comments about it were largely negative
Fanatics, previously only club shop or BFC website. Of course it doesn't but it's putting the brand out there, no such thing as bad publicity. I'll guarantee that's the most shirts we have sold outside of Barnsley, be great if she could bring some sales figures to the forum. We are very insular in Barnsley, l think it's great what shes doing on the world stage for us.
I think cutting prices of 2 of the kits quite early probably contributed to increased sales too last season. I bought the home and away shirt, both when they were dropped in price, and they're the first 2 new shirts I've bought in probably 8 years. Despite the initial reaction, I think last seasons home shirt has been one of the most popular, just judging by how many you see when out and about.
There actually is such a thing as bad publicity. Quite regularly. However, for a classic example, look no further than Gerald Ratner.
To my eyes it looks cheap and nasty but a slight improvement on last season's abomination. But, a kit's a kit and personally don't give a rat's bottom....
The article is worded slightly ambiguously, but it seems to suggest the men's and kids ones will be sold without a front of shirt sponsor, and the women's ones will be sold with Vfiles on (JAQ's company). It doesn't confirm whether a front of shirt sponsor will be announced at a later date, or whether you'll be able to buy one in future with one on.
Wasn’t the consensus last season that we liked having a white(ish) away kit and the third kit was the one to play about with? Red home, white away. Then we can still be a red and white army.
Whatever you think of the pink kit, it should be a massive win on the pitch. Highly visible players will be easier to pick out and will make defenders panic more under a press. I've been saying this for years. Shocking pink and red though... very Qantas flight attendant. In my opinion it's a shame they've had to tone down the designs this season after the flapping that went on last year. The stars and roses are nice and all but aren't really visible from a distance.
Went and had another look at the photos to see if I was being overly critical. I still can't stand them. However, I did see this item that I might be interested in - looks like it might be a nice casual jacket. But I can't find it anywhere on the website to get a closer look. If we're advertising these things as being released shouldn't they at least be on the website for ordering, even if they aren't actually available yet?
Personally I like the new home shirts ( for me way better than last years abomination) but the shorts look like somebody couldn’t be arsed looking for the right shade!, is it really too late to get some in the right colour ,white!!!
Red shorts , not for me . Didn't like them last season , don't like them this season . Probably due to the 2000 play off final . Red and white is bfc .
I really like the home and away. I'm a big fan of red shorts, though I know I'm in a minority here. As for the 3rd kit - well, I just hope we won't be wearing it very often. We'll look like a Gianluigi Buffon fan club convention.
