I get your point because we've been crap as a team unit for most of the season even though we've got results. Nothing to lose now in my opinion so let's just go for it.
I think he’s going to be one of those appointments where you have to look past his CV. I assume the club want him based on his ideologies and pressing philosophy.
His actual record is poor. Wins a few games and after then it goes south. Anyone can spout a philosophy. The point is putting into practice. Not much evidence of that I'd suggest, at least from what I can see.
Duff is a good manager. Did well at Cheltenham, made us a very good team last year (admittedly with a much better defence than Collins had), knows half the squad. I'll never hold him in the same regard after the way he left but he's the one bloke who could walk in on Monday morning and have enough knowledge of club and players to make an instant impact and improve our chances in the play offs. I'd happily take him back.
Didn't Duff fall out with the board when handing his notice in? JAQ wasn't too pleased so l can't see that happening.
Need somebody new in to galvanise team and supporters , yesterday felt so flat on and off pitch . Hoping they get duff back
I think for me it’s not just his efforts as a player, it’s his efforts beyond that. He’s given a huge amount to the club and community. Not quite Bobby status, but getting there.
Val for the play offs Duff for the *long haul in my opinion. Ismael won 4 of his first 5 games in charge, good at motivating young/fringe players, not scared to change formation and play attacking football. *Subject to tempting offers from ambitious clubs.
