I've never understood the clamour for people like McCarthy (Warnock too). I've never seen either of their sides play football in a fashion I'd be proud of or enjoy. Characters both, yes. McCarthy hugely liked and a true legend, of course. But the style of play his teams show just doesn't seem to fit what we clamour for.
I'd rather wake up with my head glued to the pillow with vom than have a kick and rush merchant in charge. But frankly, I still don't care who gets the job. Through no fault of their own, they will be sitting in a seat not meant for them.
Here’s my preference for the next manager in order depending how n who’s still around. I think one of the list would get the galvanise the supporters and n a jiffy 1. Peg leg from scout dyke 2. Dancing Doris who used to frequent the mushroom or outside hagenbachs showing her dusty old bloomers 3. Kipper, no introduction required 4. Pennies who used to do laps of the bus station pouring a handful of 2ps from one hand to the other 5. Yasmin the purveyor of radioactive peas from upt first arcade 6. Fred who used to frequent the old queensground watching every game and making notes on dirty players that he was going to report to the fa. Trouble was that he never wrote the teams down or their names just the numbers.
I work with someone who knows someone related to Mick and they've even asked him and he's said that he couldn't do it or I'll rephrase that he don't want to do it.
Adam Hammill for me, player gaffer. To play 30 mins in defence, 30 in midfield and 30 up front to guide them through Championship games. No actually, I want Daniel back.
Sol Campbell is the main target (Don't shoot the messenger) Had it from an old pit pal of mine who is usually spot on with stuff concerning the club.
The same reason people think the board had a "choice" in keeping Pinnock and Lindsey, and expect them to be replaced by battle hardened Championship players on 10k a week - they don't listen.
Gary Rowett is about the best on the odds but would never take the job under our restrictive transfer policy. It will be someone we've never heard of again like their first two appointments were.
From the horse's mouth - Dennis approached Mick on at least three occasions and he politely declined each one. Says he'd never do it. Too much to lose.
A new name that’s popped up on Paddy Power. Domenico Tedesco former Schalke manager got them to 2nd in Bundesliga in 17/18 and Quarter Finals of Champions League last season but left after Man City thrashed them 7-0 and 10-2 overall. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/domenico-tedesco/profil/trainer/30857
