    He'd be my first choice but if, as rumoured, he's already turned jobs down because they wouldn't allow him to use his own scouting network then I doubt our Moneyball system would be to his taste.

    Yeah I suspect he just won’t fit our model at all. It’s a shame as he almost guarantees success at this level, but I understand why the board will want to stick to their formula.

    Financially I think it would be doable. Use the compo to pay his wages for next season. Put him on a 12 month rolling contract, with a promotion bonus. Some risk there, but there always is.

    Because the thread is called ‘who do we want’, not ‘who do we think will be interested’

    We just finished 5th in the Championship. There will be people queuing up for the job. Not saying he will be one of them, but I think you’re underestimating how appealing the job will be to people.

    I get that I just think wilder is totally unrealistic more chance of val jacking west brom tomorrow and coming back. But if its who do we want, ill go for brendon Rogers or nuno santo

    tbf early odds tend to mean fk all. usually a combination of who's out of work, and who's put more than a tenner on someone in the last 24 hours
