Delete the word "probably" and replace with "definitely". Prior to the Falklands invasion she was VERY unpopular indeed. I don't think that the outcome of the Falklands conflict would have been significantly different under any other PM of that era, she just got lucky and got the benefit...

Did he tell you how to find an electrician down the pit? You find a fitter asleep roll him over and there will be one underneath.

With the benefit of hindsight it's obvious that the Tories spent the period after they were elected in 79 up until 84 setting a trap for the NUM and Arther Scargill marched the union slap bang into the middle of it. They spent years stock piling coal at the power stations etc ready for the strike. As one of the miners said on the documentary tonight when he drove past a power station during the strike he couldn't believe how much coal they'd got. Thatcher was determined that she wouldn't go the same way as Ted Heath and be brought down by the NUM so the bitch decided to destroy the NUM and didn't care that she'd destroy towns like ours in the process and for that reason alone I would never ever vote Tory. it's also the reason I hope that right wing Tory bitch up in Penistone gets her matching orders at the next GE. The fact she got elected at all is a stain on our town.

Watched it today seemed to be fairly even handed. Shame the media coverage at the time was so biased.
