RE: Billy Sharp for £350k sounds a bargain We need a target man, not another midget. Too similar to Hume. Stay well clear, hardly set the Blunts alight has he.
I don't think he is, just not worth a million quid. I'd take a gamble at anything below 500k. Still young, probably want to prove a point and showed in glimpses for the Blunts what he can do (he ripped us to shreds the season before last)
RE: Lamb Kleftico Offer I went for chicken breast and some pork and chive sausages, and a pork pie for lunch. Obviously some other clubs got wind of our interest in Kleftico
Below 500k yes, definetely not worth over that price. Just don't rate him, he scored for fun at Scunny and he's proved at Blunts he's not capable of scoring regularly at this level. Even his own fans have turned on him, and by ripping us to shreds you mean when he turned Souza then fired a shot past Steele at Oakwell? That's the only thing i can remember him doing that game.
It's the Agent's Fault Kleftico's agent obviously went touting him around and he was quickly snapped up by superior purchasing power. Anyway I reckon his brothers and cousins will be on the market tomorrow, so still a chance before the deadline.
RE: It's the Agent's Fault I think Stifado,Meze and Souvlaki might be out of our price range, probably end up with Mousaka and Taramosalata
RE: Pork pie Of course. As someone once said to me in the Treddlehoyle "ere love, have some pork pie; that'll put you weight on where you want it." (dunno)
Funniest post I've seen on here for a while Makes a nice change from all the fecking threats and bravado
The problem is how reliable are the comments from other players? If their comments are on the website then I think its a safe bet that they were asked for their opinion and not that they knocked on rob knowles' door to ask him to put them on the net. And if they were asked about oddjob they were hardly going to say 'he might be our friend but hes still ****'
You can't argue with facts and the fact is he's out scored every other player at the club in pre season. Yes, against questionable opposition, but he's scored more than Macken, more than Boggy, more than Hume, more than Adam, more than RNL. To me, teamed with what other players are saying about him, (and I know what you're saying re interviews), he still gets a starting shirt, unless we sign someone better, or another player shows better form. Either of those would do for me, but as it stands I'd play him. Out of interest who would you play?
If hume is fit i'd play him and boggy, if not i'd have to go with boggy and adam who has scored 3 in only two games that he's played up front. yes odejayi has scored more than him but its hardly a fair comparison, KO played up front in every friendly, adam played in midfield in all but two and in those two he outscored everyone else. His record over the last year or so has earnt him the right to be given a chance in my opinion
Ah well, time will tell Kevin Phillips & Andy Gray in by the weekend, and all this will be hypothetical!! A lass can dream! As for Jamil Adam, not seen much of him yet so can't comment but I'm all for giving kids a chance. Don't think Hume's going to be fit for a while.
"Even his own fans have turned on him, and by ripping us to shreds you mean when he turned Souza then fired a shot past Steele at Oakwell? That's the only thing i can remember him doing that game." You say that like its a bad thing to score a goal!!!!!!
RE: Billy Sharp for £350k sounds a bargain I think he'd do well here. Crap at the Blunts because of the type of game they play, not suited to him at all
