Never really understood the whole scoreboard thing. I'm at the match I know the score. I have a watch I can look how long is left. Having said that I rake a perverse joy in the contrary nature of our current scoreboard. I might try and get it protected status.

Having spoken to people at Huddersfield, they make a fair bit of coin out of the 'scoreboard' there. Adverts.

Sorry for being dense but how big will it be? What current structure, the north stand?! Are we talking similar size to leeds'?

Good idea if so, will add to the match day experience and increase revenues.

Replays during game, footage of old matches pre match etc etc. better than watching a load of 'cheerleaders' having it to Cheryl cole at half time. I would have thought?!

    Ha! Yep, you're right :)

Although if she did i would have to say 'well, we got shat on, but the experience was enhanced by the scoreboard'

To me it means the size of the current board plus adverts at each side. Ie the metal frame that supports it.

Oh and im for it too

That's what I was led to believe.

Which should be plenty big enough.

If that's how big it's going to be, I can see it being used for advertising purposes but not sure how it would enhance the {shudders} 'match day experience' {shudders}.

Still, it should pay for itself just in advertising. I wasn't keen on the idea before but I've been won over.

You're spot on there. People moan about wanting to be entertained when the footy isn't on, yet you see hundreds of people leaving the game with five minutes to go, even when we're winning or only a goal down. The only half time entertainment you could ever need is a brass band for the Christmas game.

Cheryl Fernandez Versini 'having it' at half time would be much better than a new scoreboard!

I can't see a planning application for it, last ones they have in are for some fencing at the training ground and some solar panels.

Not sure if they'll need permission for the scoreboard as it's not facing onto a public road, I don't work in planning so not totally sure though.

Interestingly they applied for a single storey bar to be erected opposite the Ponte End in 2006, it was granted but obviously never built.

*please note this info is from documents which are in the public domain.

Does Bossman know you've been discussing the size of Ben's erection?
