I suppose your right you can always ring someone up at half time to find out how the other games are going on.
It wouldn't be a top priority for me. However, if we're going to insist on using it then we should at least ensure it worked properly which it clearly doesn't anymore. If we're not going to replace it because we can't afford it then let's dismantle the old one and take it to the nearest recycling place.
Bet you don't just phone and text on it though. A proper information/entertaining score board will be a big advantage even for dinasaurs.
Re: I see what you did there This thread is underlining how bad the club is at commercial activities. I honesty thought we would have improved under the guidance of Ben and Maurice........but i haven't seen anything yet.
I'm with a few other posters on here. Been saying it all last season. They should switch the scoreboard off. Looks awful. I understand why we're not getting a new one though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know some would actually cease to exist if we didn't have phones and I'm certainly not saying they don't have there place, but for 90 mins during the game I don't need mine, and I don't actually need a scoreboard especially if it's at the expense of a new player, I'd love us to be able to afford both and do it properly, until then remove the current broken one for me
What we have wasted on players we could have had a new scoreboard/large screen. If we had not bothered with Frimpong we could have had 2. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
So we look more professional as a club. It's not going to cost us anything if we get companies to advertise on it. One of the lasting images of recent years is the scoreboard at full time when we beat Chelsea. With the current condition we'd not see it like that. A scoreboard that shows pre match highlights of wins down the years would help get the crowd more pumped too.
Nobody thinks that. Why not get a new scoreboard when it would be free? We've two choices..... 1) Keep the current rubbish scoreboard that no company with an ounce of sense would want to advertise on. 2) Pay for a brand new one with the brand new revenue stream of companies wanting to promote their business on it.
How would a new scoreboard stop that from happening when the scoreboard would be paid for with the revenue we don't get at the moment from having a scoreboard worth seeing your company promoted on?
It's not free. I think the huge costs required to site one at Oakwell has caused the delay. I understand this is getting on for the cost of the screen so it may not be as viable as first thought especially given our loss of revenue next season
Have the club considered moving the location of a scoreboard or just where the existing one is? Can imagine there are problems with the structure with the wind etc. with the current location.
