To be fair, that old sign has been up that long, the cladding below will be faded. So without a significant sum being spent on a new sign which is bigger, re-drilling all the fixings, this is the most cost-effective way.

The club are right to do it really - creates a better first impression as you drive upto the stadium, but also is cost effective. And I presume it’s just the same lettering being repainted. Which is better for the environment.

The larger back-lit option for the sign would be ace - and would be good to see in more prosperous times.

I see Khaled put up the sign himself, with the help of Toby Tyke :D Although, as is tradition when we mention Khaled on here, we need to be critical so I'm going mention all the warnings I've seen over the last few days not to take your dogs out in this heat !! Its a disgrace a tell thi:D

Is it really bad that I went to pick my ST up yesterday and didn't really notice the difference!?

Have you been tested for colour blindness lol. It used to be a mixture of pink, red, orange and peach. If its red then it is definitely different.

I've got to say.... I really can't see the point in this. It's just a waste of money and doesn't make any tangible difference. Every penny should be going towards generating more revenue or improving our chances of increasing our budget next season by being a league higher with whatever squad we're left with once August is over.

I just don't think it's high up on things that register with me, but good that it's been done.

Can't see anything wrong with that at all. It looks smart.

In the grand scheme of things it won't have cost that much & does give a much better impression of the ground from the outside.

It's all about standards. If it looks tinpot then it becomes tinpot. Won't have cost much but the stadium now looks impressive when approached from that side.

I'm a big believer in doing things right and being consistent. But doing so at a time that makes sense.

Given our huge deficit, it just isn't worth it in my view. What I've never really understood is why the fonts we use for vary so much. The signage on the West Stand don't match the Ponty. I'd rather we waited, devised a consistent branding convention and did it all well at a time we had the necessary funds.

I thought at the time of that signage going up it looked naff, cheap and old fashioned. It now looks cleaner. But it still looks naff, cheap and old fashioned.
