I can't see that, but we do have some difficult decisions to make. I very much hope the directors are helping out too by either waiving their salaries or taking a pay cut.
You're getting worked up over a player we haven't signed, and a player that Ipswich haven't signed. Have a word with yourself.
You on about you melt? I’m getting ‘worked up’ cos I’m sick to death of us supporters being treat like utter c[]nts by this ownership, roles might’ve changed but it is the same ownership group don’t care what anyone says. And still the same incompetent CEO that’s just as responsible as us going down and being in debt as much as Conway and co are.
Whoever he is he's crap because we've never heard of him, he must be foreign, he's been signed for the future, he has never scored a goal, he is yet another centre half, he is only 4ft 6" tall, he has dark swept back hair, he once went to Cheltenham, he knows Lloyd George just like Lloyd George knew my father, he swallows his chewing gum. But otherwise he'll fit in fine.
But what has triggered you in this particular thread? That's what I'm not understanding (must be the lack of common sense or 'meltiness'), as we've not signed the inexperienced player mentioned further up. In fact, the only players we've signed all summer who are relatively inexperienced are a 3rd choice keeper, and Connell (who on first glimpses, looks quite a find). The rest are experienced footballers, albeit at league 1 level, which is the level we're playing at. It's a clear shift from the recruitment strategy of the last 4 or 5 years, and more similar to the one which we employed under Patrick Cryne. The signing of Cadden in particular, is the sort of signing we used to make under Patrick. I'll judge Khaled at the end of the season. He didn't cover himself with glory last year, but clearly he wasn't being supported by the board in the slightest. The main culprits, whether its their name on the paperwork or not, aren't pulling the strings any more. Quite frankly, they weren't pulling them last season either, that was the problem! At least give us chance to finish our business, and play a few games. You've written a player off in this thread who we might not even be interested in signing. And leave the name calling out, it's a bit pathetic.
Do you honestly think I’m ‘triggered’ over one signing? They don’t call me Hemsworth Tyke. I’ve made me feelings know over the last few weeks on here so if you’re truly arsed and want to know I suggest looking back at the stuff I’ve been saying since then. To cut a long story though, we’ve sold all our best players and not replaced them, we won’t spend transfer fees on signings so we’re hoping for decent frees and now with the looks of it loans and not decent loans like your Matty James and players of the ilk, very inexperienced and pampered premier league kids that we’re basically trying to improve for the likes of Man City. If owt it will limit the valuable much needed game time of Marsh, Ackroyd and possibly Jalo. I know which kids I’d rather play. As for the CEO he’s coming up to a year in the job and under him we’ve been relegated, alienated an entire stand at the ground with 100’s from said stand taking refunds and not renewing after countless years. There’s a lot more where that came from of the mishaps and mistakes of El-Ahmed, I’m sure you know that yourself. People need to ask theirselves too who exactly hired the CEO? Yup, Conway. As for name calling, don’t come at me with cocky sarcastic posts and you’ll not get that. 2 way street bro. Don’t be a c()nt with me and I’ll not be one with you. Simple.
I don't think you could have summed the situation up more perfectly. I think some people are still hanging onto the hope though that we will receive a cash injection (from somewhere) so we can be more competitive. Not only is it not going to happen, but it would likely lead to the ruin of the club. Patrick used to put a million a season in. It took a complete rethink in order to get out of that rut. We can't become reliant on a regular cash injection to keep us above water. I loved that we'd got out of the habit of being reliant on loan players, but it's exactly what we need right now, if we're going to progress.
This is the reason the coach from Cheltenham got the job.. We have employed a man not only use to keeping his clubs head above water but actually over achieving in trying circumstances. And that's where we are.. a disjointed club that has been poorly run. And will be paying for bad decisions from management at the very top for years to come.
I understand the situation is rubbish in terms of the finances, you and others have kindly explained that to people like me on here who don't understand financials that well. But with that being said, surely we can attract someone a little better than this? I know it's not even confirmed yet and we aren't even certain it is this lad but his record is dire to say the least. We in the position we are in have managed to sign the best LWB from L2 on a free beating others to his signature and now are supposedly getting a loanee in with a goal record compatible to that of Big Vic. I know we can't expect big names or signings for a fee at this stage, but surely there must be loanee options around that would inspire more faith than this guy (if it is him). I hope that if it is him, he comes in and proves me and the other doubters wrong, I really hope that's the case. But on face value, it's really hard to be inspired by this as a potential signing. Would have been better off keeping Vic.
You make reference to Premier League players on loan. We've barely had any in the last 5 or 6 years. I get your frustrations, but you're missing (or ignoring) my point and we could be going around in circles all day. I apologise for my sarcastic comment, I didn't mean to offend.
But we don't know how good he is? I think we need to have a bit more faith in the process. We all seemed reasonably pleased with our business this summer until we lost on Saturday.
We're being boomed to death with a big Chien Lee Barnsley F.C Chocolate Dildo. It might feel better after we beat Cheltenham.
We haven’t had in recent years no and I liked it that way focusing on our own players, like I said didn’t mind the occasional loan signing of a Matty James cos them sort of players really help a side like ours. But unless they’re a Ashley Fletcher or Ben Pearson, young prem loanees tend to be crap let’s be honest. Duff alluded to last week on radio Sheffield that we’re basically waiting for the prem clubs to sort their squads out before we see an influx of loans from prem sides coming in. Doesn’t fill me with hope. And no problem, right back at ya.
They all had games at a reputable level though. Apart from the GK who is clearly for U23s. McCarthy played in European cups and lots of games in Scotland. Cundy has lots of games in English football including championship minutes. Connell has championship minutes too and did well. Norwood loads of goals in EFL and experience. Cadden best LWB in L2 last season. This to me anyway just appears to be a panic loan as fans are demanding a striker. Khaled has links to city group and seems one they have grabbed in for sake of it. Can't imagine how someone with zero league goals in 2 recent Dutch league loans can have appeared on the spreadsheet.
