How many foreign strikers we brought in and how many have been a success? We’ve had our fingers burned but still seem willing to dip them in the fire again.
I understand that George Hirst will have better options (ie Ipswich) but surely Kyle Joseph from Swansea would be a better option for us?

So we have windass thrown in the hat. Which it won't be 100 percent. If drive him here he's class.

    Tedic I know nothing about.

    Joseph I know nothing about

George Hirst had 1 good season with Portsmouth but needs to he playing and scoring now.

Either way I will give any of them a chance. Can't be worse than cole

So you think Barry Bannan is on league one wages !.and if your saying half the income doesn't equate to half the amount to spend and they are not being bank rolled I want to know why ?

But you sign good players and bad players, regardless of their nationality. It's a gamble to you take with any signing. We were rumoured to be in for Ashley Fletcher when we signed Daryl Dike for example. I'm glad we signed the one we did.

I think an actual lump of coal would do better up top than Devante Cole.

He's terrible but I can't help but think playing wing backs kill our centre midfielders. To do well domestically these days you need midfielders chipping in with goals but we play with wing backs and that's not gonna happen. I ******* hate the wing back formation. Tinpot

The only time I'd worry is if we woke up one day and Duff had said **** it and walked. While ever he's here I'll trust he has a huge say and is in total agreement with any recruitment. And that he's doing the very best he can with the cards he's been given

I think the current formation is too defensive, the centre midfielders are essentially sweepers well at least 2 outta the 3 of em. If it was up to me I’d be tempted to make one of the midfielder’s more of a number 10 and would be tempted to play Aitchison there as that’s where he played for Forest Green last season and by all accounts really excelled in that role. He didn’t too bad on Saturday up top though, showed a lot more than Cole anyways, not that it’s that hard to do.

On the subject of other clubs in league one, Wednesday over the last two years lost £50m, wage bill of £24m in year to 2021.This compares to BFC of just over £14m pay roll.

Chansiri supporting around £125m of losses.

I'm not saying anything about who is on what, I'm pointing out that half the income doesn't mean half the amount of available money for transfers.
If a club A has an income of 20 million and an expenditure of 15 million they have 5 million left.
If club B has half that income, 10 million and an expenditure of 11 million, they haven't got half of 5 million left. They've got nowt. Zilch. Less than zilch because their income hasn't met their expenditure. Because income isn't the whole story.

I know nowt about Sheffield Wednesday's finances and don't care to speculate. I know something about ours. We've spent all the money we had and saddled ourselves with contracts we can't afford. There's not just no money to spend, we can't afford to meet the liabilities we have and therefore have to sell players.

@Jay and most importantly we haven’t got anyone willing to underwrite losses.

Good on him if true! How much are our owners contributing? I wonder if its same percentage as our support is contributing?

It’s all in the accounts which are publicly available.

The total confirmed contribution from BFC directors contained in filed accounts is -£750k. Cutting them a bit of slack they did announce a cash injection of £1m but details are not publicly available. That would make their investment £250k or 0.2% of the amount supporting Sheff Weds.

What am I getting wrong here? £14m averaged over say 30 staff is still an average pay of £9k pw…. Even if the first £4m is for club staff (?) then 30 playing staff averages £6.4k pw…. Am I just being dense?!

I've seen the accounts, my point is the owners need to put in a little amount of their wealth if they have the interest of our club as we the support contribute. In comparison we put £400 plus in every season minimum, if our owners put the Same percentage of their wealth we would be competing at the top of our league

Wouldn't a share Dilution show up in the BFC companies account if it had been done ?
How much have the directors paid themselves over the 4/5 years
didn't someone say it was 493000 just for one year ?
