Think just up until secondary school,,, would have gone to Foulstone (think that’s what it was called) my Dad went there & he grew up in Darfield. Used to play a lot of Sunday league to a decent standard
Warm welcome SCT. You deserved a medal for undertaking that journey alternate weekends. When we can, we visit our family in Poole once a year and have to break the journey up with plenty of stops along the route. We take the scenic route leaving the M1 South at Northampton via the Oxford by pass. Always enjoy calling in at Rownhams Services, because you know you are almost there. Have a real soft spot for the South West. Been visiting our folks in the South since circa 1950, so it holds many happy family memories.
It’s a trip alright in one go. That’s the way I used to go from here. Up the A34, M1 straight to my Nans in Darfield, meet the old man there, to the game, back to NAN’s for tea then home. I’ve been down here many a year now. There’s some nice places to go. The older I’m getting though, I’m thinking I’d like to move back up North somewhere, one day, when the kids have left home (if they leave that is)
You'll be fine on here so long as you don't talk about football, politics, brexit, covid, women, ladies, females, bread buns, racism, commentators that can't shpeak, especially women, anything with the word wednesday in it, and so on. Other than that ...
