RE: Plan B was continue playing with ............. Exactly right mate. As soon as we went a goal down I expected a change of formation but it didnt happen until Coulson came on. We played a good formation for a penalty shootout.
It's not like me to agree with you, but... I did wonder why Davey didn't try and change it around a bit after Newcastle went 1-0 up, it seemed as if he was content with a 1-0 loss.
OK gung-ho might be an over statement but the fact is we were more likely to have lost the match than won it. I know that if we'd have been more attacking we'd have had a better chance of winning but the chance of us conceding more would have been greater also. We need to look at the bigger picture with our next match being against a team that put 7 past us (albeit we were crap) the last time we played. Confidence in the camp would have been at a low had we taken a beating against Newcastle and would be 'shot to pieces' had we then taken a further defeat on Saturday (the chance of this would be more had we taken a heavy defeat v Newcastle). A defeat is a defeat but a heavy one would have really put us back further, I think we have a better squad than last year and all we need now is a bit of confidence and a run which is worth at least 10 points (it's how Wednesday, Colchester and Plymouth finished so high).
